Craig Forrest

February 2006 News Headline

JFK met with Canadian soccer legend Craig Forrest and SOS Partnership Coordinator Kelsey Lemon, to discuss fund raising strategies for the SOS Children's Villages charity and about participating in an upcoming JFK event this summer.

Craig is currently a host of the Rogers Sportsnet Soccercentral TV show and the Honorary Chair for the FIFA World Youth Championship Canada 2007 games.  Included in Craig's accomplishments is leading Canada as the goalkeeper to win the Gold Cup Championship of 2000.

  More on Craig...
Craig Forrest has been recognized as a key player for the Canadian National Team since 1988.  He played in all three games at the 2001 Confederations Cup and earned his record 19th shutout against Brazil on June 2, 2001. Perhaps Forrest's most noteworthy accomplishment came when he was voted the Most Valuable Player, Most Outstanding Goalie and an All-Star at the 2000 Gold Cup, where he allowed only three goals in five games and stopped two penalty shots. He was also named by the Canadian media as the Canadian Player of the Year in 1994.
