Announcements from Fun Day...

It's a beautiful game.  Always has been and always will be.  It doesn't matter whether you're playing just for recreational sport, on a quest to be the champion, or dream of getting your hands on the World Cup - it's still just for kicks.

Thank you all for a great summer.  If you have any pictures from Fun Day or any other day that you would like to have us post on line, please email them to JFK.  We want your comments & suggestions.  Tell us what you liked and what you didn't.  Give us suggestions for increasing the good reputation of our Club.  Email us or fill out a Comment Form (in your Fun Day newsletter).  We hope to see you again for our indoor season and next summer.  We've already begun registrations and the winter season will be full soon.  Official tax receipts for the 2011 programs will be sent out at the end of the year.  Please visit the JFK web site regularly for news and support the sponsors that help JFK.  Thank you for the memories.

If you were absent for Fun Day & need to pick up your Trophy and/or Pictures and/or need to pick up your Fund Raising Draw Reward or Prize:
To collect the prizes from the fund raising draw including the rewards for selling tickets, as well, if you didn't pick up your trophies or receive your pictures, you can pick them up until October 31 at the JFK Club House 445 Midwest Road, Unit 35 (located off of Midland Road, south of Ellesmere).  Office Hours: Wednesdays 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Saturdays 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Any items not picked up will be returned to inventory or recycled.

Don't forget to nominate someone for Volunteer of the Year.  Just send us an email who & why.

Accomplishments in 2011
JFK concentrated on quality over quantity.  Registration filled up fast, in fact, most divisions were full by March and the upcoming winter season is filling up fast too.  There's very limited availability.  This summer referees were doubled up for many of the games giving great officiating and ref mentoring at the same time.  We had many pre-season clinics for players, parents, referees and coaches.  Pre-season assessments helped even out the teams as well almost 100 changes in the rosters by Picture Day.  Only 2 teams officially went the entire season without a single point, not bad considering there's over 100 teams.  Those "zero point" teams received a free season of soccer in accordance with JFK's Satisfaction Policy.  This summer we introduced a new program for girls development - Girls Got Game, in which these selected girls trained and played at a higher level of girls' only competition.  This year's participation trophy is huge standing at 12" tall (30cm) and it's a beauty.  We've received many kudos over it and the soccer programs in general.

For the 2012 Summer Season
Girls Got Game is planning on expanding - details will come in the winter.  We'll have more of the good stuff including continuing to train coaches and referees pre-season and during the season.  We hope that you will be a part of our superb season - register early.  JFK will be running it's 9th summer season.  We'll continue at 4 locations with separate leagues for beginners (Recreational) and experienced players (XP All-Star).  What should I join next year - Recreational or XP?  If you were in the Recreational league and was one of the better players, you should play XP next time.  Current XP players should stay in XP unless they feel it was too advanced, then register for Recreational. Recreational and XP are the same price.

Just For Kicks - Our name says it all
Hand shake and high fives.  Coaches set the stage for a wonderful season as shown in the adjacent photo.  Players high fiving each other or their parents/spectaors really show great sportsmanship.  Check out these great sports below.  Thumbs up or throw your hands in the air and cheer says we're having fun, this is great.  We're happy so many people experienced a great time at Just For Kicks Soccer this year.
